This
is a free service to the Nagarathar community who are in search of
a Suitable Match for their Children. The nature of the service is
to provide information on the eligible grooms and brides
|

History
|
In
the earlier days in the Nagarathar community there were well informed
elders in our native place who suggested suitable match for the boy
or girl. All the marriage or religious functions are attended to by
the eligible grooms and brides within whom suitable alliances were
matched. Now a days the, as the community is spread allover the globe,
on their employment or occupation, the boy and girls are not able
to find time/ interested to go to their native to attend the functions.
Hence a place was required to make a link for those who seek alliance
for their sons and daughters.
A thoughtful
Nagarathar Mr. M. Chidambaram Chettiar (Ex Indian Bank Officer)
of Devakottai, felt the need of the hour and started the Nagarathar
Thirumana Sevai Maiyam at Besant Nagar, Chennai in his own
house. He was the forerunner
in establishing such a service. After running the service for more
than a decade he has decided to hand over the responsibility of continuing
the service to a service minded person with a similar aspiration in
the year 2001.
He has
rightly chosen Mr. SM. Lakshmanen of Devakottai who was also a retired
Officer of Indian Bank, to succeed him in running the service from
Jan. 2002. The information of shifting the Matrimonial Service to
4A, Indian Bank Colony, Vallalar Street, Padmanaba Nagar, Chennai
600094, was passed on to all the Registered Grooms and Brides, by
letter. The Service Commenced at Indian Bank Colony from 24th
Jan. 2002 and was
conducted for 3 to 4 weeks on every Sunday (In Besant Nagar it was
almost a daily Service) and due to the overwhelming response from
Nagarathar the space for the service was not sufficient and hence
it was thought of shifting
to a better place.
By the
grace of Lord BalaThandayuthapani of Palani, Mr. SP. Lakshmanan of
Devakottai who is one of the Trustees of Kovilur Madam and also excutive
trustee of Rukmini Arundale Foundation , who was aware of the
inadequacy of the space and got permission and blessings from Kovilur
Aatheena Karththar SEER VALAR SEER NACHAPPA ADIGAL for conducting
Nagarathar Matrimonial Service at Chennai (West Mambalam) premises
of the Madam.

The Place
|
The
Madalayam is situated in new and nice premises at
52,Kuppaiah Chetty Street, (Behind Kasi Madam Kalyana Mandabam, Near
Madly Bridge SUB WAY), West Mambalam, Chennai 600033. From the Last
Sunday of January 2002 the Service commenced at Kovilur Madam, and
continuing the legacy of Chidambaram Chettiar successfully with the
Blessing ofKovilur Aatheena Karththar SEER VALAR SEER NACHAPPA
ADIGAL on every Sunday between 9am To 5.30 pm.

May 2001 and took VRS and settled at Chennai.

as a consultant in computer field concentrating Home Segment on systems
(HARDWARE) & support and web related activities, was consultant
GENERAL MANAGER in marketing etc., to WebIndia Internet Services P.Ltd.,
and presently advisor to Appsasamy Associates, a Group of companies.(Manufatures
of IOL, Opthalmic Instruments and Equipments) Arumbakkam, Chennai
